Cosmic Clocks in the Allegheny Mountains

Tucked into Pocahontas County, the Green Bank Telescope is the world's largest fully steerable radio telescope, and one of its most important modern jobs is treating pulsars, rapidly spinning dead stars, as extraordinarily precise cosmic clocks. As with every version before it, the new language would only take effect once Congress itself changes the federal Uniform Time Act, a condition none of West Virginia's previous attempts has yet seen fulfilled.
